What is Benacort nasal spray?
Benacort nasal spray contains 64 micrograms of Budesonide.
This nasal spray is used to treat adults with inflammation in the nose caused by an allergy to pollen (hayfever).
What is the active ingredient in Benacort nasal spray and how does it work?
The active ingredient in Benacort nasal spray is budesonide. Budesonide belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. Corticosteroids work by reducing the levels of inflammation in the nose. This treats a blocked, runny, or stuffy nose.

- sneezing
- runny nose
- itchy nose
- blocked nose
Warnings and Precautions
- Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
- Read the package leaflet before use.
DO NOT USE IF:
- You are taking HIV medicines
- You have ever had a bad reaction to Budesonide or any other ingredients in this medicine.
- You have a nasal or sinus infection or a fever
- You have problems with ulceration in your nose
- You have recently had an injury or surgery to your nose
- You have a chest infection
- You have a problem with your liver
- You are or have recently been, using any other product containing a corticosteroid, including creams, ointments, tablets, asthma medicines, eye drops, or other nasal sprays or drops
SPEAK TO YOUR GP OR PHARMACIST BEFORE USE IF:
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Your symptoms have not improved after using the spray for 7 days
- You have tuberculosis (TB) a chest infection, chicken pox, or measles or have been in contact with somebody who has TB, chicken pox, or measles
Ingredients:
Active Ingredient: Each spray contains: 64 micrograms of budesonide.
Other Ingredients: disodium edetate, microcrystalline cellulose (E460), carboxymethylcellulose sodium (E466), glucose anhydrous, hydrochloric acid, polysorbate 80 (E433), purified water, and the preservative potassium sorbate (E202).
