Key Features:

Fluconazole Capsules are one of a group of medicines called “antifungals”. The active substance is fluconazole. Fluconazole Capsules are used to treat infections caused by fungi and may also be used to stop you from getting a candidal infection. The most common cause of fungal infections is a yeast called Candida.

Description:

Single dose treatment. 

Do not take Fluconazole Capsules: • if you are allergic to fluconazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6), or if you are allergic to other medicines you have taken to treat a fungal infection or thrush. The symptoms may include itching, reddening of the skin or difficulty in breathing • if you are taking astemizole or terfenadine (antihistamine medicines for allergies) • if you are taking cisapride (used for stomach upsets) • if you are taking pimozide (used for treating mental illness) • if you are taking quinidine (used for treating heart arrhythmia) • if you are taking erythromycin (an antibiotic for treating infections).

How to use:

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is: Adults 150mg as a single dose. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

Ingredients:

• The active substance is fluconazole. Each hard capsule contains 150mg fluconazole. • The other ingredients are: Capsule contents: Lactose monohydrate, pregelatinised maize starch, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate. Capsule shell: Gelatin, titanium dioxide (E171).

Precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Fluconazole Capsules. This is particularly important:

• If you have liver or kidney problems • you suffer from heart disease, including heart rhythm problems • you have abnormal levels of potassium, calcium or magnesium in your blood  • you develop severe skin reactions (itching, reddening of the skin or difficulty in breathing). Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. A few people develop allergic reactions although serious allergic reactions are rare.If you get any of the following symptoms, tell your doctor immediately: • sudden wheezing, difficulty in breathing or tightness in the chest • swelling of eyelids, face or lips • itching all over the body, reddening of the skin or itchy red spots • skin rash • severe skin reactions such as a rash that causes blistering (this can affect the mouth and tongue). Fluconazole Capsules may affect your liver. The signs of liver problems include: • tiredness • loss of appetite • vomiting • yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes (jaundice). Fluconazole Capsules may affect your adrenal glands and the levels of steroid hormones produced. The signs of adrenal problems include: • tiredness • muscle weakness • loss of appetite • weight loss • abdominal pain. If any of these happen, tell your doctor immediately.

Faulty Goods

If there is an item missing from your order or the item you receive is damaged or defective then we will send you a replacement where possible. If a replacement is not available then we will refund your purchase in full.

14 Day Cooling-off Period

By law, customers located in the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within 14 calendar days of the item being delivered.

Where you are withdrawing from your purchase within the 14 day cooling-off period, and there has been no error on our part, we will refund you in full, provided the item is still in its original condition. All UK orders received Monday-Thursday before 3.30pm and all orders received by 12.30pm on Fridays will be dispatched on the same day via a tracked service.
